His Thirumeni (Body of Ramanuja) was dedicated in the Vasantha Mandapam of Aranga upon Ramanuja's ascension to Srirangam. In the year of his birth, Pangala,
Ramanuja (Bhagavath Sayujyam) passed away at the age of 120 (1137 AD) at Jeeyar Mutt on a Saturday at noon in the month of Masi. Like uprooted trees, his followers Kanthadaiyandan, Arulalaperumal Emperumanar, Embar, Vadukanambi, and others fell.
Dharma Nashta (great loss to dharma) was the sound made by the Asariri immediately after they died. It is stated that everything that occurred at that time was miraculous. Through a disciple named Uttama Nambi, Arangan named Namperumal sent the peethagava, the blossoms of thujai, and the bowl of oil in a gold bowl to Jeeyar Math as a final act of respect. After rubbing oil on Ramanuja's thirumudi, Uttama Nambi bathed the thiruvudal, placed the stripped Peethagawada and the touched thuzhai flower on the thirumeni, and consoled the disciples in Jeeyar Mutt. Afterwards, those in attendance were also offered Sri Surana and oil.
The Vaishnava term for this is Brahmamedha Samskaram. Following this, Ramanuja's Thirumeni was set up in front of his esteemed followers and jeeras, who sang mantras like Parahmavalli, Bhrukuvalli, and Narayananuvam, on a vahana (divine level). The funeral procession led by Ramanusara Thirumeni was initiated by thousands of Vaishnava workers, disciples, and devotees.
After reciting Seven hundred Tiruvaimozhi, there was a recitation of Arayans, including Thiruvaimozhiraiyar, Aappan, Thiruvavanthuraraiyar, Thirunaraiyuraraiyar, Asaya Manavararaiyar, and so on. Thiruvarangathu Amudanar, Periyagovil Vallalar, and others trailed the vehicle after Ramanuja's recital. The car made its way through Srirangam's four Uttra Veethi and Chitrai Veethi neighborhoods from the Jeeyar Math. The streets were crowded.
Women gathered and doused their streets with water. Poo and pori were combined, then sprinkled. He carried a pitcher and a cane as he made his way around the Arangan temple. The Asarirei rang out once more as Ramanuja arrived at the temple entrance to rejoin the funeral procession, where the servants were hurling hammers and riding a garu around in the sky. This time, the Asarirei said, "In darshanam the Lord has risen to Thirunat."
Aranga goes on, saying that Ramanus is his treasure and Ramanushan is his man. According to Yathi Samskaravidhi, they so taught that the money of Ramanusar's Thirumeni should not be taken outside of the temple's grounds (inside the enclosure), much as a king keeps his pendir inside his Andapura, within his shrine.
Burning monks was not a custom in the Vaishnava religion many years ago. They will bury them instead. In the Srirangam temple complex (formerly known as Vasantha Mandapam), Ramanuja's Thirumeni was placed, and a sanniti was built by the current owner over it. We are still able to visit his Thirumeni nowadays. It is easy to notice his hands, nails, hair, and other features in his thirumeni. In the Srirangam shrine dedicated to Ramanuja, Thirumeni is referred to as Thanana Thirumeni.
