Border Security Force (BSF)
BSF fought its first war within 6 years of its inception and recaptured many areas from Pakistan. A war memorial has been erected at Dharamsala to honor the sacrifice, bravery and pride of the soldiers in this war. India and Pakistan share a 3,300 km border. In this, 1,023 km of border is shared with Jammu and Kashmir alone and 500 km with Kutch district of Gujarat state. The India-Pakistan border starts at Post No. 1 in Jammu and Kashmir and extends to Punjab and Rajasthan and ends at Post No. 1175 in Gujarat. The post number is set according to the border area. Arid terrain, salty desert and swampy areas bordering Gujarat and Pakistan make monitoring the border and improving security a challenging task for the Border Security Force. On June 16, 1819, a devastating earthquake (7.7 to 8.2 on the Richter scale) occurred in the Kutch district of Gujarat, killing 1,543 people. Then, in this district alone, a distance of about 400 km was buried like a big circle. It went down several feet above sea level. Due to this, this district is facing many dimensions like salinity, desert, water level in a year.
The Sukkur lake on the border is formed by natural bounties such as sea turbulence and rainfall as it has gone down from the sea level. The lake has an area of 300 square kilometers (74,131.6 acres). Of this, 210 square kilometers (54,892.1 acres) are in India and 90 square kilometers (22,239.5 acres) are in Pakistan. India is actively monitoring the central part of the lake by constructing a road and a security fence around the lake. Post number 1135-1175 also has a binational boundary due to various dimensions caused by natural change. This 22 km unfenced marshland is known as the Harami Nalla area. Every player working in this area is doing a very challenging job. A single player cannot go here alone. Only four or five people can cross this swamp. The main reason for this is that each player is buried waist-deep in swamp mud. Thus, BSF soldiers go in a group and protect the nation along the border by tying ropes, placing ladders and long poles. They are known as 'Crocodile Kamondes'. The construction of fences using modern technology has been started in this area. As it is said that terrorists can infiltrate from Pakistan through this area, soldiers are patrolling the water area with modern boats and ships. Surveillance work and evacuation of soldiers are also carried out by helicopter.
In other fenced areas, high towers are erected and observation work is carried out through binoculars. Apart from this, soldiers patrol the border in groups on rotational duty as patrolling. Officials are also keeping a close eye on the border. Surveillance cameras are also installed here and there. In this context, it was planned to remove the existing fences and erect modern security fences to further strengthen the border security and prevent infiltration. Accordingly, the construction of modern security fences in Assam under the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System scheme was initiated as a pilot project. This program will be of great help in preventing illegal infiltration, human trafficking, smuggling of goods and cross-border terrorism. A modern security fence called 'Smart Pens' has been set up at a distance of 71 km in Jammu and Assam. In this way, the work of setting up smart pens for a total distance of 1955 km along the border is going to be started in various phases. In the first phase, the work of setting up smart pens for a distance of 13 km will be done in Mohan Pillar area of Kutch district of Gujarat state. Apart from this, intensive surveillance is being done on the border with thermal cameras, bunkers and modern technologies to see if any outsiders are intruding within a distance of about one kilometer. Royal salute to every soldier who has shown indescribable passion and dedication in snow, sun, mud, mud, water and land. This nation will always bow down to the sacrifice of these soldiers.

As this water is rich in salt, once the water drains, the area will look salty.

Dharamsala is 60 km from the border. This is the last area where the public is allowed. No one is allowed more than this. 6 companies (2 Central Govt., 2 Gujarat Govt., 2 Private) are jointly setting up Asia's largest solar power plant on 72,000 hectares at Palawan, about 20 km from this area (40 km from the border). .
This solar power plant will generate 30 gigawatts. Project leader Verma said that 15 gigawatts will be produced by next year and full production by 2026. It is reported that the dust deposited on the solar panels will be cleaned without water by robotic machines.
